Since becoming available worldwide, I'd been thinking about getting myself an iPad. I have no iPhone, and no netbook (my dad's red acer doesn't count), so it's the perfect mobile computing solution for me. But the prices of local sellers were outrageous! Apple hasn't officially released it in the Philippines so we must rely on importers to get us our iPad fix.
Last week, I found (or did she find me?) this online seller via common contacts in Facebook. She's actually my brother's former teammate, and an FB contact of my brother's gf and a college friend. She was selling the iPad in the lowest rates I've found in the Philippines. It was priced at just the same rates as the published rates on the Apple website.
After some correspondence, and some thinking, I placed an order.
Now, almost a week later, I still have not received the product.
Have I been scammed? I don't think so. I understand that sometimes shipments really do get delayed. She's still answering my messages and have offered to give me back my money. I'll wait for it on Monday and then follow up. I really would rather still get the product, and am not really worried that she'll run from me. I'm pretty sure we can track her down anyway.
But then again, maybe I should just forget about the iPad. Take my money back and keep it. I can't get my mind off the iPad though. Now I'm even thinking of getting the 32g instead of the 16g or the 3G capable version. After all, if I really wanted to be mobile, 3G is the better way to go. Haha.
I hope she contacts me tomorrow and says that I can already meet her to pick up my iPad!

It wouldn't hurt to come by and visit every once in a while. I should do that more often.
