Migrating my blogger blog to my own domain and host has proven to be a long drawn-out process for me. The easiest and fastest to do was purchasing my domain and hosting, which I've had for about three weeks already.
Next, I started thinking about how I wanted my site to look. I have beginner knowledge on HTML and can make a page, but I don't want my site to look very drab. I want it to look somewhat professional. Haha.
So I started reading up on Joomla and I even installed it on my host. But then, I thought about what was going to be the content of my site. I realized that it would essentially be my blog (I would be using that and not update the Blogger version) so I don't really need a CMS solution do that. Wordpress can serve my purpose. Plus, WP has CMS capabilities too depending on the template used, so I guess that would work perfectly for me.
But just like any other blog I've owned, I want the new one (and last personal blog I'll ever start up) to have my mark. I want a theme that would suit me. If I could, I'd have it to look exactly like my current blog just because I spent a lot of time modifying that theme.
I still just my end up using a ready-made free theme while I design my own, or just delay the launch of my new site until I finish one. But seriously, this is starting to frustrate me!
