One of my previous agents was promoted a few weeks ago and has already started at her new post as Quality Coach in our newest site outside of Metro Manila. I truly am happy for her.
She sent me a wordy email on what was probably her last day inside our office building at our QC site. I haven't actually seen her in about two weeks as she was already undergoing training for her new account and preparing for her post. I was very touched by what she wrote.
It affirmed something for me: that perhaps I am doing something right, and my efforts do get appreciated. Sometimes things come naturally to me that I act without any great effort, I don't expect those to have any impact but they do. At other times, in this job, I have to prepare or psyche myself up in order to get things done, and knowing that I somehow made a difference, or even a dent, is really encouraging.
She thanked me. And that made me thankful.
Just a few hours ago, I got a similar affirmation from one of my current agents; it made me happy again. Really.
I should remember to thank my boss too (and all my previous bosses).
