i mostly cook only if i definitely have to. or if there's no one else to cook for me. i'm not even sure if i can make it up to 13!~*1* Chicken Cola - i don't know any other family who cooks this except mine. this is chicken with coke and ketchup sauce. it's sweet. it was definitely a favorite among us kids in the family. you can't go wrong when cooking chicken cola: to the chicken, add equal parts ketchup and coke. bring to a boil. simmer down until chicken is cooked. kids are guaranteed to love it. my dog likes it too.~*2* Hotdog - is frying hotdogs even considered cooking? well i do. ~*3* Burger patties - yes, i can defrost burger patties and flip 'em on the frying pan. when i was on SBD, i bought this certain brand of beef patties that didn't have extenders and less amount of fat. i mastered the art of cooking it through and through without burning it too. ~*4* Fried Eggs (sunny-side up) - i started out with cracked yokes and weird shapes. but they were fried eggs nonetheless ~*5* Scrambled eggs - with or without milk. sometimes with cheese too, to make an omelet ~*6* Cottage Cheese Crepe - this was my favorite SBD breakfast. eggs with cottage cheese, splenda and a dash of cinnamon. will have to make these again. yummy! ~*7* Stir-fry chicken with vegetables - sometimes it's chicken chunks, or chicken breasts, with asparagus, or string beans. again, SBD food. i used to cook this to bring to work for lunch. ~*8* Pasta - no, now this could be very misleading. i don't really cook pasta. i am just the designated person who boils the pasta, as in the noodles. either my mom, dad or brother takes care of spaghetti sauce (red or white, or green), while i make sure the pasta is al dente. ~*9* Grilled eggplant - or should i say barbecued eggplant? whatever! i liked to grill eggplant right over the stovetop fire. then peel it, chop it, and combine with tomatoes. i season it with either soy sauce, or my favorite bagoong or shrimp paste. voila! the perfect side dish for lunch, or even snack food. yes, this was still for my SBD days ~*10* Rice - this is no big deal. just put rice and the right amount of water in the rice cooker, plug it in, and push the button to cook. 20 minutes later, you've got steamed rice (no burning at the bottom of the pot) ready to eat. i didn't even learn how to cook rice on just regular pots and over a stove. pathetic. but i think i know the principle behind it. i just don't know if i have the patience to wait for it to cook, and watch so it won't burn. ~*11* French Fries - fried using corn oil, or virgin coconut oil. does this count? this is snack food again. ~*12* Baked Potato and Mashed Potatoes ~*13* Instant Noodles - yes, those instant noodles that you drop in boiling water, wait 5 mins, drain and then season with the mixture packaged with it. instant pancit canton is my favorite type. i can't have too many though, i tend to get headaches from the smell of the MSG. this is worse with instant noodles where you just add hot water to the container. So there you go, thirteen things i can cook, or prepare. i'm not proud of this fact, i still hope that someday i'd be interested enough to learn to cook more dishes. and hopefully real dishes at that time.
